CORCOVADO
– HIKING
Tour by boat to National Park Corcovado, ranger station San Pedrillo.
Boat trip of appr. 1.5 hour from Sierpe: 45 minutes river &
mangroves. From the Sierpe river mouth to the park (another 45 minutes
boat ride) with a scenic view of Isla Violines, Drake Bay and Marenco
Biological Reserve and chances to spot whales and dolphins. Two
trails to hike (3-4 hours) with a bilingual nature guide.

Transportation from the hotel (pickup at 6.30 am) to Sierpe and
back (at the hotel 5.30 pm), boat transportation from Sierpe to
San Pedrillo ranger station and back, park entrance, bilingual guide,

CAÑO
ISLAND – SNORKELING
Tour by boat to Caño Island. Boat trip of appr. 1.5 hours
leaving from Sierpe: 45 minutes river & mangroves and 45 minutes
open ocean with chances to spot dolphins and whales.
Besides
snorkeling, there is also the possibility for hiking at the island
(trail of an hour hike).

Ojochal - Playa Tortuga area
Guided horse tours are US$ 12.50 per hour per person, 2 hours minimum
(beaches, mountains, waterfalls).
NAUYAKA
WATERFALLS
Ride with local guides to waterfalls and swim near two beautiful
cascades towering 65' and 150' above a sparkling 20' deep pool with
3000 sq. ft. surface area. The falls are the centerpiece of Nauyaka
Tourist Center in a 45 acre wooded area reforested with native species
and 50 acres of tropical rainforest. An extensive network of trails
affords excellent viewing of tropical plants. There is no vehicle
access. The daily tour begins at 8 am and ends at 3 pm. The cost
is US$ 45 per person including local guides, horses, and a Costarican
breakfast and lunch. Nauyaka is located on the road to San Isidro,
10 km. East of Dominical, 45 km. northeast of Hotel Villas Gaia
(35 min. drive).
KAYAKING
Kayaking - Caves & Waves (3-4 hours).
Explore numerous caves along the spectacular coastline between Playa
Pinuela and Playa Tortuga. An unforgettable experience. Turtles
and porpoises frequently spotted en route.

of kayaks to paddle all by yourself for example to the Island of
Garza where you can explore miles of secluded beaches (including
transportation to the beach of Tortuga, Piñuelas or Ballena)

FISHING

A full day tour which takes you about 28 miles off shore in a 21
foot long boat with a center console and twin 90 hp motors.
Reels are 30 class gold penn International and stand up rods.
Fish which are regularly caught (from December until May) are: sailfish,
dorado, yellow fin tuna, wahoo and marlin in that order. For bait
lures are used and ballyhoo for trolling.

ULTRA
LIGHTS FLIGHT
The ultra light plain "Challenger II" operated by Skyline
is a tandem machine (pilot and passenger), known for its excellent
flight performance and safe operation.
The area to fly over extends over the Central and South Pacific
coastal line, from the Manuel Antonio National Park in the North
to the mangrove swamps of the Terraba and Sierpe rivers in the South.
From the coast to the General Valley of San Isidro. Flying over
this area one can explore the mountains as well as the coast line.
Flying over slowly and absolutely stable, one has the unique opportunity
to observe waterfalls of all seizes and shapes, secluded sandy and
rocky beaches, strangely formed caves, mountainous primary forest
with a dense canopy, rivers, mangrove swamps and more.
Starting & ending point: the local airstrip of Playa Uvita (Bahia),
12 km North of Hotel Villas Gaia.
CANOPY
BARU
- Canopy Observation platform
Ascend over 110 feet (34 meters) to a platform suspended in the
canopy of a magnificent tree and experience the rainforest canopy.
An experienced naturalist guide is with you at all times. The tour
lasts two-to-three hours (including a 30 minutes hike to the tree)
and requires no prior experience. Includes: guides, equipment and
a hoist to the platform.
BARU
- Tree climbing
Ascending through different layers of the rainforest canopy with
an experienced naturalist guide to a height of 112 feet (35 meters)
above the forest floor using special equipment and techniques. Tour
includes guides, instructions in basic climbing methods and safety,
equipment.
Duration of the tour is three hours, including a 30 minutes hike
to the tree.
BARU
- Flight of the Toucan
Zip from one ridge top to another, across valleys and streams on
specially designed cables, harness and rollers, with two experienced
naturalist guides. An informative way to see the rainforest and
get a thrill at the same time. Includes 8 cables, one tree platform,
14 land based platforms located on ridge tops, guides, equipment,
instruction.
The tours lasts two hours, including a 20 minute hike to the first
cable.
