Costa Rica trip, Bruce Eagle (from USA) - January 23, 2006
We are very grateful four your help in getting us the hotel room until we could solve our financial problems. We also appreciated your suggestion to get to the embassy early. Even though we were able to go directly in and not wait in the visa line, by getting there early we got ahead of the several dozen other American citizens that showed up after us. Even so, if we hadn't figured out that one of Bruce's credit cards was still good, we could of really had problems since Costa Rica doesn't accept passwords or US driver's licenses to get wire money transfers, only passports, and without the money, we couldn't get new passports. We would like to send you a token of appreciation. What is your mailing address? I'll add a few words, Adobe is fantastic to work with. Zancudo was great, I would recommend it to anyone wanting to have very laidback time, great fishing and many nature type things to see. The nightlife however is not so good. Some of the place's we liked were Latitude 8, Sportfishing Unlimited and Los Cocas. Thanks again for all the help. Bruce Eagle Wrangell, Alaska wiseagle@aptalaska.net
Costa Rica trip, Elaine Levy (from USA) - January 18, 2006

Mauricio, First, we want to thank you for helping us to have a really wonderful vacation! Overall, we were very pleased. The rental SUV was perfect and the people from Adobe were very nice and helped us with road directions.

Our hotel in Arenal, the Arenal Paraiso, far exceeded our expectations. The bungalow was "cozy" but not uncomfortable. The restaurant was excellent, the hotel staff were all very nice. The grounds of the resort are truly beautiful, and it was awesome to wake up in the morning to an amazing clear view of the Arenal Volcano which we could enjoy from our front porch! Also, the canopy tour there is located right at the resort: people from the other hotels in the area came to the Paraiso by tourvans to do the canopy tour. And the canopy tour was thrilling to say the least! Also, they have wonderful hot springs which we enjoyed. So, who needs Tabacon? In summary, we highly recommend the Arenal Paraiso.

In Monteverde, we had a mixed experience at the El Establo. It is a very nice hotel with very nice stall. But it had 2 peculiar problems. The rooms, which are spacious and had a loft (they upgraded us), each has a cathedral ceiling. The problem: no window covering or drapery to block out the sunlight. The other problem was equally annoying. The hallways outside the rooms are like echo chambers. Anyone having a conversation was heard loud & clear in our room. For these reasons, we would not recommend the El Establo.

We were lucky enough to see the Quetzal in the cloudforest! The El Parador in Manual Antonio was utterly fantastic. It is truly a magnificant hotel located in a perfect location. One morning, one of their staff took us on a walking tour of the grounds to see the monkeys in the trees. Everything about the hotel was marvelous.

There is no question that we would highly recommend the El Parador. Altogether, we had a wonderful visit to Costa Rica and we may come back in the future. Finally, let me say that Costa Ricans are among the most friendly and welcoming people we have met in our travels, and we have done a lot of traveling. Of course, this made our visit complete.

Thank you once again for enabling us to have an unforgetable vacation. We will certainly send our friends who wish to visit Costa Rica to you to arrange it. Kind regards, Bruce & Elaine

Costa Rica trip, Sebastien A (from USA) - January 9, 2006

Mauricio, Everything went very well and it was a very enjoyable trip. The only problems were difficulties with American Airlines causing us to miss our flight going there, but the Interbus service was very good and we liked both hotels, though they were very different. Thanks, Sebastian

Costa Rica trip, Keith Riggs (from USA) - January 1, 2006
Dear Mauricio, Our vehicle rental experience in Costa Rica was great! The vehicle was delivered to our hotel when they said it would be. The vehicle was clean and full of fuel ready to go. The young man who brought it was polite, well mannered and helpful with any questions that I had. We thankfully didn't need any assistance while we were there, but we knew that it would be available if we had needed it. Thank you for your help in making our Costa Rica adventure a wonderful and beautiful experience. Thanks, Keith, Kathy and Amber Riggs.

In the beginning I felt a little nervous by this new experience, but soon felt tranquil & confident with all of the other transfers! My experience in your country was a positive one . With my son , we learned about the enviorment, flora and fauna, culture. All the people who we met treated us well and left a pleasant print in our lives! Mauricio, thank you very much for facilitating all this! I wanted to call you by telephone to say thank you for your transportation services, but with this letter I have communicated what I wanted. Hope you feel better of your accident! Much luck in this year that begins! Javier.

Costa Rica trip, Ian Hill (from UK) - December 19, 2005
Good day Mauricio, We did enjoy The Corcovado Tent Camp, we actually enjoyed the 3 klm hike on the beach to the Tent Camp, it was nice. Luckily we did not have those rolling suitcase, that might have been a problem. It was also too bad that the day we arrived , Corcovado National Park closed down due to monkeys dying. The camp was very quiet, and on the last day we had the tent camp to ourself until diner time, when 2 other couple showed up. We still managed to see lots of wildlife on the hike we took in the back of the tent camp. All in all I would give it a 4 out of 5, food was great and service was exceptional. Regards. Josee Bull
Costa Rica trip, Nia Brown (from USA) - December 9, 2005

Mauricio, I am finally getting a chance to respond to you regarding our trip. First, let me say that Costa Rica is a beautiful country. Nia and I had a fabulous time in each of the places we visited on our journey. I would recommend this trip to my friends and I would certainly recommend you as their travel agent.

The hotels you selected and the suggested itinerary for each day was just what we were looking for. Probably the best thing we ever did was get the cell phone and you'll see why as I get into the details.

Arrival - We arrived at the airport and Adobe was there waiting to pick us up. After the short drive to the rental car facility we received our car and headed on our way. They were very good about giving us a map and directions to Arenal so I didn't have to use the one I purchased.

Arenal - The road to Arenal was as beautiful as you described. While we didn't get to actually see the volcano (too cloudy), we did have a great time hiking and seeing spider monkeys, doing canopy tours, getting spa treatments, and visiting Tabacon.

The Arenal Paraiso hotel was nice, the people were hospitable, and the food was good. It rained quite a bit while we were there but we were prepared so it didn't bother us at all. I can't pick a "favorite" for this part of the trip. Its a tie between the zipline canopy tours and Tabacon Hot Springs.

The Road To Monteverde - The road to Monteverde was as bumpy as you described. About halfway on the journey, the car broke down. It ran out of coolant and we later figured out that there was some sort of leak. This is where the cell phone came in handy. I called Adobe and tried to explain the problem. Ultimately, they agreed to bring us another car from Liberia. We were fortunate to have made it to the Hotel Tilawa near Tilaran where we waited for Adobe to bring another car.

The car arrived at about 2pm so we decided not to continue to Monte Verde but to stay at the Hotel Tilawa over night and then head to Monte Verde the next morning. During this experience, the rental car company did a great job of "solving our problem". We ended up having a wonderful evening at the Hotel Tilawa, spending time talking and dining with other travelers. They really made what could have been a nightmare a very pleasant experience for us.

Monte Verde - The hotel El Establo was beautiful and well worth the long bumpy road. It was a rainy day but we were still committed to seeing the cloud forest. Everything there was beautiful and the guides were excellent. I think the highlight was seeing a sloth at 11 am in the afternoon slowly walking across the telephone line. Apparently, this is rare so we were lucky.

Playa Conchal - After the adventures on the road to Monte Verde, our arrival in Playa Conchal was much needed. The Paradissus is an amazing resort. I must admit that we didn't do a lot of sight seeing. We just relaxed on the beach and enjoyed the 24 hour service provided by the hotel. It was a great place to unwind. My only feedback was that we wanted to participate in some of the activities offered by the hotel but everything was sold out for the days that we were there. This was unexpected especially since we weren't there over a weekend.

San Jose - We safely made it back to San Jose and returned the car with no problems. They drove us to the Hotel Le Bergerac where we were determined to get some rest to prepare for the rafting trip. Rafting the next day was a lot of fun. A couple of rafters in our boat kept falling out and making the experience more entertaining :) The Pacuare River was beautiful and again the guides were great. Very interesting, engaging and fun. I must say that after seeing the "city", that I really enjoyed the "country" better. It was a lot more peaceful and relaxing.

The itinerary you put together really provided a true "Costa Rica" experience for us and for that I thank you. If you would like more feedback on any area, please let me know. I have also copied Nia in case she wants to add anything. Feliz Navidad y Feliz año nuevo! Stacy

Costa Rica trip, Mike P (from Canada) - December 1, 2005
Mauricio, Thank you for your follow up.. We had a blast in Costa Rica...We are already planning to return with our kids. Thank you so much for arranging our vehicle. You were right about the roads however we did not mind and in fact we managed to laugh at the "road madness". We put 1400 km on the car by visiting both coast without incident. The worst part was returning home to -4c and 4" of snow.

The Daihatsu is a perfect vehicle for two passengers with luggage while traveling in Costa Rica. Mucho Gracias, y adios amigos. P.S. I hope one day I may be able to assist you when you travel to Ontario / Canada
Costa Rica trip, Matt Sargent (from USA) - November 29, 2005
Mauricio at Latin Discover made our day on Tortuga Island the best of our trip. He took car of all the details on very short notice, and all aspects of the trip ran smoothly and as expected. It was outstanding piece of mind to know that he had taken care of every detail for us. We will definatley use him again on our next trip to Latin America.
Costa Rica trip, James C (from USA) - November 21, 2005
I received a credit to my credit card from Sansa last Friday. Thank you for your help with this. My experience with Sansa was that I had to buy new tickets, the flight to Tamarindo was a hour late and the return flight was over two hours late. Renting the car from Adobe went smoothly and without incident. Latin Discover did everything they said they would. When there was a billing problem with Sansa you, Mauricio, stepped forward and handled it promptly and effeciently. I would be happy to do business with you again. Regards, James C.
